It is the excitement of the upcoming elections that has filled immense energy in me, said BJP Delhi state president Manoj Tiwari in a conversation with Mail Today on the future course of action and his strategy for the upcoming MCD elections this year.
Ahead of polls that will be held on April 23, Manoj Tiwari is gearing up with all-new schedule and strategies to bag a third-time victory for the Bharatiya Janata party in the civic polls.
“The night before the road show, my team members and I kept awake all night preparing for the campaigning. Till it was only by 5 am, that we could take a break from planning. With very little break, we set out for our road show at sharp 9.45 am. When I saw the gathering, my excitement doubled. It feels as if the elections are going to be held in the couple of days with the kind of response and wishes that are pouring in from supporters. There is no scope of letting fatigue get inside you.”
When asked how he plans to stay fit amid the campaign season, he said, “Daily yoga session comes in handy for such times. With all-day long road shows, a focus on diet is mandatory. I am trying to maintain a healthy diet and take lots of fluid.”
On the party’s future course of action, Tiwari says that BJP plans to finish campaigning in the entire city by April 16.
From April 11, road shows will be conducted in two parts and will be led by Union textile minister Smriti Irani and BJP MP Hema Malini.
“We will be organising a road show on April 20 where Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis is likely to lead the campaign. We are also in talks with Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath to campaign for one of our road shows.”
Tiwari also took the opportunity to take a dig at Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, in the light of the Shunglu committee report exposing massive administrative irregularities.
He said Kejriwal has dissolved the faith of people and instead, caused more harm to the essence of democracy.
